Experience overview: Somatic movement practices are subtle. Some have said they notice the absence of them more than the presence. You will be encourage to document your journey (written, video blog, etc.) over the three weeks as a way to amplify the subtle shifts. The program is intentionally a cohort with live sessions to foster a sense of community and belonging. This structure is to allow for accountability and support to be built within the group. Also, sometimes when we get stuck on our journey it is because we need to be witnessed in community; this is built into the program. The 21-Day BodyMind Reconnect program is an offering that comes with recommendations and know that everything is an invitation: take what you need, leave the rest behind, edit as you wish. Engage with this work with curiosity and compassion.

What to expect:

Group Gathering: To meet fellow participants and discuss setting ourselves up for success in this three week journey.

Week 1: This introductory week will focus on the whole body through the lens of various systems (muscles, joints, nervous system, etc.) and theories (development movement, Polyvagal Theory, etc.) as well as foundational practices for participants to engage in.

Week 2: The second week will include deep dives into specific areas of the body and include the thought patterns/meaning steeped in those parts of the body. Resources for further research will also be shared.

Week 3: The last week is focused on integration of the previous two weeks. This week is also participant driven to ensure that the interests of those engaging in this work are addressed.

Celebration: Taking a joyous moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and strategize for moving (no pun intended) forward

Group Gatherings: A check in one-week out from the program to maintain connection with each other and a commitment to ourselves and our practices
Who is this not for? This program is not for those who are seeking diagnosis or 1:1 therapy. This program may feel therapeutic and can compliment other therapeutic modalities, but this is not therapy. This program is not for those who expect quick fixes or passive results. Somatic movement requires active participation and engagement from every individual.
Who is this for? On a logistics level, this program is for those who have access to consistent internet, an email address, a personal space where they can engage in this work, and technologies that allow for audio and video communication.This program is for individuals who are ready to commit to a habit forming journey for their overall wellbeing. It may also be ideal for those who: have recently experienced illness, surgery, or other events that led to disconnecting the bodymind; have been on a healing journey but are feeling like the’ve plateaued; and anyone who is prepared to take an active approach to strengthening their bodymind connection.

I feel I have a strong bodymind connection, will I still get something out of this? The 21-day program is structured to support building a habit of regularly nurturing, nourishing, caring for, and tending to our bodymind. With a strong connection in place, this can support you refining and deepening the work you’ve already done.

What if I can’t attend every live session? It was anticipated that not everyone would be able to make everyday so all live sessions will be recorded and shared with participants.

Is it really possible to do effective somatic movement work online? Yes. Molly began teaching movement online in 2018 and will go over how to set up for success with somatic movement in online spaces. Also, Molly’s been a student of movement taught via zoom for about the same amount of time so she’s skilled on both sides of the camera.

How long will I have access to the pre-recorded videos and live session recordings? All resources will exist on the digital platforms for the foreseeable future. You will be notified in advance if that changes.

I have no idea what somatic movement is / no experience with this stuff, is this program suitable for me? Absolutely! This is a great way to see how somatic movement practices impact you and if it’s something you want to pursue longer than the three weeks.

I have limit mobility, how can this program support me? In general, somatic movement practices have a very wide range of movement options to meet every participant where they are at regardless of mobility. Please connect with Molly to discuss your concerns more specifically and to ensure that your needs are met within the program.

What if I’m unable to complete the program? Is there a refund? Somatics encourages us to slow down and be in the moment - i.e. it’s about the journey not the destination. If the 21-days feels a bit too intense for your schedule, feel free to take your time going through the 21-days over the course of weeks, months, or years since you will have access to all the materials. If you enroll in the program and cannot continue due to extenuating circumstances, please contact Molly directly. There are no refunds available at this time.
