SOMATIC MOVEMENT GROUP COACHING.

The world can be overwhelming, but that's exactly when we need to dive deep into our own humanity.

Somatic movement group coaching focuses on body awareness and movement to facilitate personal growth, healing, and improved well-being. This approach emphasizes somatic inquiry to understand our mind-body-spirit connection in relationship with the world around us. Over these three-months we will harness the healing power of movement as a catalyst for personal evolution and transformation.

Key elements of this somatic movement group coaching include:

Body Awareness: Participants learn to become more aware of their bodies, sensations, and movements. This awareness can help identify and release tension or stress stored in the body. It can also support greater growth in other areas of life.

Movement Practices: Guided movement exercises are used to explore how physical movement can impact emotions, thoughts, and overall well-being. These practices may include stretching, mindful walking, improvisational dance, or other forms of movement.

Simply Soma Connection: Emphasis is placed on the relationship between physical movement and mental/emotional states in response to stimuli. Participants learn how to use movement to influence their mood, reduce anxiety, and improve overall mental health.

Cohort Model: Working in a group setting allows for shared experiences, mutual support, and collective learning. Participants can benefit from the insights and encouragement of others in the group. There is also great benefit to being witnessed in community.

Facilitation and Guidance: ISMETA Registered Somatic Movement Educator/Therapist, Molly W. Schenck, guides the sessions, providing instructions, feedback, and support. She helps participants navigate their experiences and integrate the benefits of somatic movement practices into their daily lives.

Holistic Approach: Somatic movement group coaching integrates elements from various disciplines, such as yoga, movement/dance therapy, mindfulness, breathework, and bodywork, to create a comprehensive approach to health and wellness.

Overall, somatic movement group coaching aims to help individuals connect more deeply with themselves and the world around them, enhance their self-awareness, and improve their physical, emotional, and mental well-being through the power of movement.

Who is this for? This program is for individuals who are ready to commit to a habit forming journey for their overall wellbeing. It may also be ideal for those who: have recently experienced illness, surgery, or other events that led to disconnecting the bodymind; have been on a healing journey but are feeling like the’ve plateaued; and anyone who is prepared to take an active approach to strengthening their bodymind connection. And on a logistics level, this program is for those who have access to consistent internet, an email address, a personal space where they can engage in this work, and technologies that allow for audio and video communication.

Who is this not for? This program is not for those who are seeking diagnosis or 1:1 therapy. This program will not teach you how to facilitate somatic movement classes or be a somatic movement educator/therapist. This program may feel therapeutic and can compliment other therapeutic modalities, but this is not group therapy. This program is not for those who expect quick fixes or passive results. Somatic movement requires active participation and engagement from every individual.
